R&Q Solutions processes over $1.6 billion in reinsurance transactions per year. Our claims organizations work closely with the clients in the review and analysis of client claim data and are well-versed in insurance and reinsurance industry trends. Claim billings and claim recoverables each total approximately $600 million annually. The calculation and payment of initial and subsequent premiums and premium adjustments are made based on each client’s contractual requirements. Currently, over $400 million of premium transactions are processed annually.

At present, R&Q Solutions is providing a complete outsourcing solution for several multi-line insurance and reinsurance companies that are in run-off. Our services to these clients include claims management, accounting, compliance filings, securing letters of credit, and statutory and management reporting. Our run-off clients’ books of business include environmental, asbestos and other long-term liability exposure.

Within the public sector, R&Q Solutions is also handling run-off accounts or receiverships on behalf of the several State Insurance Departments. These estates in liquidation include both ceded and assumed reinsurance administration involving accounting, claims management and collections work. Our assignments often require providing assistance to and/or coordination with direct claims personnel whether they be in-house employees or third-party administrators. For one of our clients, R&Q Solutions became the entire reinsurance department for an extended period of time. This work effort required coordination with numerous guaranty associations throughout the United States.

The R&Q Solutions commutation area has substantial experience, including exposure and contract reconciliation, actuarial derivation of IBNR, negotiations and contract development. We also have countless industry contacts, relationships and exposure to multitudes of reinsurers based on our prior experiences with a large multi-line insurer where we were responsible for all reinsurance commutation activities in the U.S. and London. Since its inception, R&Q Solutions has completed commutations totaling $250 million. In sum, R&Q Solutions has dealt with a wide spectrum of complex insurance and reinsurance industry and market level issues that are inherent in the underwriting, auditing, claim settlement, recovery, negotiation, arbitration, and commutation of environmental and long-term claims exposure.
